Pontevedra (Spain), 25.01.2021 – Today the online games publisher LimboSquare announces its intention to licence the online first-person shooter S.K.I.L.L. – Special Force 2 in Europe.
About LimboSquare:
Founded in 2020, LimboSquare (“LimboSquare,” “our,” “we,” or “us”) is a newly created online games publisher.
Their main mission is to bring back to life games that closed, and their community, still want to play.
They are a dedicated team of community managers, designers, artists, and most importantly gaming enthusiasts.
Why S.K.I.L.L. Special Force 2?
It has been a while since S.K.I.L.L. – Special Force 2 closed their European and North American servers. Thanks to a change.org petition, we found out that their community organized themselves to bring the game back.
After a thorough investigation we decided to try to licence the game. This is our first desired title.
We have been in contact with the game developer and the petition responsible since almost one year.
The reason of this announcement is that we want to shed some light on this subject.
S.K.I.L.L. Special Force 2 plans and schedule
LimboSquare wants to clarify with this document that there is no final contract signed yet between the game developer and this company. The reasons will be detailed later.
Our first plan was to release the game in 2020 but was not feasible mainly due to the COVID-19 pandemic that we have encountered.
There were some other problems that made it impossible to move forward and sign the final contract with the game developer.
We received your feedback regarding the possible game comeback and our Product Team have studied it.
That’s the reason why LimboSquare decided to request to change the anti-cheat software. As a result of that decision, many issues arose, so we finally preselected two anti-cheat software for the comeback. EasyAntiCheat and XIGNCode 3.
Sadly, communication with EasyAntiCheat developers was broken, so we tried to get BattlEye, but was not compatible with the game.
Arrived at this point, we contacted XIGNCode 3 developers and surprisingly there were no problems with them and the communication was fluid.
Our Product Team asked us to recollect this game community feedback in order to decide which anti-cheat you want. At the end of this announcement article you will find a small survey where you will be able to choose the desired anti-cheat software.
We are plenty of ideas for this new project and your feedback was wonderful.
Our actual plan is to release the game soon this year (2021), after we sign all the needed contracts with all the companies and developers, but we have encountered one last problem. The financing.
After almost one year with no revenues, our budget has been severely affected making it impossible for us to meet the initial payments required to release the game, such as licences, taxes and rates, services, salaries, server renting…
The financing

After a long and deep study about our financing situation, we decided to start a donation crowdfunding in order to get some extra financing for our company, like other companies and start-ups from our sector did in the past.
Companies like “Krome Studios”, “FOW Interactive” or “Gamer Moment” did a donation crowdfunding event or a rewards crowdfunding event, and they succeeded. That is the reason why we will run a donation crowdfunding from today on.
How will it work?
- We will run the crowdfunding event on GoFundMe that is a leading crowdfunding website which ensures all the security. Just in case that we have to cancel this project, we will refund all donations.
- There is a goal that would be the ideal goal, but with our actual budget we will be able to start everything probably before reaching this goal.
- Once we reach the needed money, we will close the crowdfunding.
- We are aware of the actual global situation, and we don’t want you to donate money that you will need.
- We ask you, before making any donation to us, to check some charity fundraising. There are people who also need your help, and we would also like to help them.
